The Proposed Project
The vision for Jimmy’s Wave is to build a single, static wave that complements the natural beauty of the Big Wood River. But Jimmy’s Wave is only one part of a much larger vision to completely transform Lion’s Park as part of the City of Hailey’s “Greenway Master Plan.” Jimmy’s Wave will complement two related projects envisioned by the City of Hailey and the Wood River Land Trust. The City would like to rebuild Lion’s Park, and the WRLT would like to restore the river corridor alongside Lion’s Park.
Jimmy’s Wave currently sits at roughly 30% design. Further work is needed to hone the design, ensuring that any work on the river mitigates and does not exacerbate the consequences of flood events.
Jim Grossman
Jim was extraordinary, there is no other way to say it. He took on challenges with a vigor few could emulate. Throughout his life, he fought to build a wave on the Big Wood River. Friends of Jimmy’s Wave is a continuance of Jim’s legacy. We will fight like Jimmy would to build this wave.
